Members of the Executive Board as well as League Officers will serve as Officers on Duty each game night/day. The scheduled Officer on Duty ("OOD") typically arrives 30-45 minutes prior to the first game time to open up the Concession Stand and assist the team volunteers in getting it ready for operation. They will also unlock restrooms, press towers, and the equipment room. The OOD will also turn on field lights, when needed.
The OOD is the League's representative that day/evening for any issues or concerns from parents, players, or volunteers (including umpires and all members of the coaching staff). The OOD will remain at the Park until all games are concluded and all facilities are locked up and closed down.
If there is an issue that the Team Manager or Umpire cannot handle at his/her field, the OOD should be asked to come to that field to assist. If there is a game rule question or need for interpretation, the OOD should be consulted. In the event there is a behavior issue that cannot be remedied with a warning, the OOD has the power to remove any spectator, player, or volunteer from the Park if deemed necessary to preserve the integrity of ILL's youth sports program and ensure a family-friendly environment.
Typically the OOD will be wearing a green ILL Board/Officer shirt and will be walking the Park/fields throughout the games.
