AAA Baseball and Softball Divisions
Have Fun - Enhance Fundamentals

AAA Baseball and Softball (league ages 8-11) is a development division for players.

Offense

  • Each team may score a maximum of five (5) runs per inning. The 6th inning or any additional innings played are unlimited scoring innings.
  • Runners may not leave the base until the ball crosses the plate, but runners may advance on a passed ball.
  • For Spring Softball Only: Prior to mid-season, no walks will be allowed. The batting team's Coach will call balls and strikes from behind the pitcher and will step in to pitch if a batter receives 4 called balls. If a batter gets to 4 balls during an at bat, their count will remain the same as far as any strikes they have received and the coach will step in to pitch to the batter. The coach will pitch until the batter strikes out or puts the ball in play but only throwing a maximum of 3 more pitches. If the batter does not put the ball in play or reach 3 strikes by the 3rd pitch from the coach (can continue if foul off 3rd pitch), then the batter is out.  If the batter puts the ball in play, then only one base is allowed for all runners, regardless of the hit. After mid-season and throughout the remainder of the season and play-offs, regular player-only pitching will be utilized.
  •  For Fall Baseball and Softball: There will be no walks all season. The batting team coach will step in to pitch if a batter receives 4 called balls. The batter’s current count will be erased, and they will receive up to 4 pitches or three swinging strikes (whichever occurs first) from their coach. If the 4th pitch is fouled off, only one more pitch will be allowed. Batter will be out if they strike out or do not put one of the 4 pitches in play. If they foul off the 4th pitch from the coach, they can receive an additional pitch. If they foul off the 5th pitch, the batter is out. If the batter puts the ball in play, then only one base is allowed for all runners, regardless of the hit.
  •  Runner cannot leave the base until the ball crosses the plate.

Defense

  • Fall only: Ten (10) players may be used on defense. The 10th player will be used as a fourth outfielder. Outfielders must stay on the grass and cannot play alongside the infielder(s).
